How we are trying to make this event "green":
Greening the Conference:
The Delta Institute is helping green the 2010 Illinois Governor’s Conference on Tourism! The Delta Institute is a respected Chicago nonprofit that creates, funds and implements programs that promote a healthy environment, a strong economy and thriving, vibrant communities. Delta provides technical assistance and training to businesses and communities throughout the Great Lakes region, and is known for its work helping the Merchandise Mart achieve LEED certification. More at www.delta-institute.org
As part of its consultation, The Delta Institute will help measure the environmental impact of the conference and quantify the positive steps being undertaken by planners, attendees, the hotel, vendors and other stakeholders. Delta will also recommend a few simple ways to reduce the conference’s footprint now and in the future. Watch the conference program for more information on this exciting initiative!
